What happens if something goes wrong?
In the rare event that something goes wrong during your move, rest assured that we have comprehensive contingency plans in place. Our team is trained to handle unexpected situations swiftly to minimise any disruptions to your moving experience.
If we damage an item of furniture, we agree to repair it or replace it. We have exceptional craftsmen of fine furniture and antiques in our list of contacts. Occasionally the item will be unrepairable, then it will need to be replaced or the agreed value will be paid to you.
If we attempt an arranged pickup or delivery and there is nobody home, we may be able to revisit later that day or the following day which may incur an extra charge. On delivery, if no one is there to receive it, a smaller item can usually be left at one of our storage locations for you to collect. Larger or multiple items may have to be stored in a local facility at your expense.
What is a backload?
A backload refers to the practice of utilising available space on return trips from a destination. It allows us to offer cost-effective solutions by maximising the efficiency of our interstate delivery routes.
What vehicles do you use?
We have a fleet of modern and well-maintained late-model ISUZU trucks, which are still under warranty and regularly serviced. We have two different roadside service crews available: Isuzu Care and NRMA Businesswise, and we also have a business account with Beaurepaires.
All our vehicles are fully enclosed furniture pantechs, watertight, and fitted with loud alarms and GPS tracking. They are parked on private secure property under cameras at night. Each truck has around 90 felt blankets to wrap furniture and lots of tie straps to secure everything safely.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, we understand the importance of protecting your valuable belongings. That's why we offer comprehensive insurance coverage options to provide peace of mind throughout the moving process.
- We have insurance for goods in transit up to $300,000 per truck. This is just in case we need to make a claim for damage to furniture, fire, theft etc.
- Our workers are properly covered by workers' compensation insurance, in case they injure themselves on the job.
- We also have extensive public liability insurance coverage if someone should get tangled up while we are moving you and hurt themselves.
You are covered by our existing policies.
We can provide a certificate of currency, usually within 24 hours, for any of our insurance policies upon request.
What is a small move?
This refers to the transportation of anything from a single item up to around 5 cubic metres. Items over 80 kilograms can be a little tricky to move depending on what they are, so our ability to move these items is determined during the booking process. To protect our removalists, we do not allow them to lift anything over 100 kilograms.
Why are we called The Blue Mexican?
We get asked this question more than any other! The name "The Blue Mexican" pays homage to the New South Wales cricket, rugby, netball, and rugby league state teams, commonly referred to as "The Blues." Additionally, our frequent trips 'south of the border' to Victoria, colloquially known as 'Mexican territory,' inspired the name.
How early should I book?
We recommend booking your move as early as possible to secure your preferred moving dates and ensure availability. Our team will work closely with you to accommodate your schedule and make the moving process as seamless as possible.
How can I pay?
We accept payment at collection or upon arrival at delivery. This can be made with either cash, card, or eftpos. Please note, a 2% for credit/debit cards applies. You can also pay over the phone with credit card details after collection and before delivery. Invoices are available upon request; we can provide them after collection.
